Chief Scientist for Social Learning

Irene Greif, IBM Fellow and Chief Scientist for Social Learning at IBM Research, has spent her career studying collaboration. She is founder of the interdisciplinary field of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), and has led research teams at MIT, Lotus Development, and IBM studying collaboration and learning in both workplace and educational settings. Resulting technologies are now key components of IBM's leading collaboration platform, IBM Connections. And interactive visualizations Many Eyes and Many Bills can be used for both business and education. Irene is a former faculty member of Computer Science at University of Washington and of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a registered student in more MOOC courses than she can count.
